Final Draft

Join us for staged readings of new scripts written by Hemang Yadav, Timothy Yam and Wong Yunjie, directed by Jeremiah Choy and K. Rajagopal. The readings will be performed by Loong Seng Onn, Nora Samosir, Julie Wee, Brendon Fernandez, Grace Kalaiselvi, Mumtaz Maricar, Musa Fazal, and many more!

Free admission and we welcome donations thereafter! Proceeds will go towards funding TheatreWorks’ developmental and community engagement programmes. TheatreWorks (S) Ltd is a registered charity and one of the oldest and most established interdisciplinary arts companies in Singapore.

Synopsis

Malavika by Hemang Yadav

Hemang, 40 years old, is a theatre practitioner and is Artistic Director of Wisdom of Monkeys Production. He is currently a doctoral candidate pursuing his PhD in English Literature. His play Malavika is a tragicomedy on forbidden love and the male psyche. Can forbidden love restore the self-esteem of a middle-aged loser?

Timothy, 31 years old, is a civil servant. Final Call is an absurdist piece set in an airport. Trapped in an airport with bizarre passengers and an airline rep from hell, a desperate man searches for his boarding gate … if it actually exists.

Wong Yunjie, 37 years old, is an arts practitioner. His play Potholes breaks down a psychologically-disturbed killer’s psyche into its elements.
